1. Platform Description
SurplusAtlas is a technology and data platform that connects property owners with licensed attorneys for surplus fund recovery. SurplusAtlas is NOT a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship
No attorney-client relationship is created between SurplusAtlas and any user of this platform. Any attorney-client relationship exists solely between the property owner and the licensed attorney providing legal services.
3. Attorney Obligations
Attorneys who register on SurplusAtlas are responsible for complying with all applicable rules of professional conduct, including but not limited to fee agreements, client communication, and competent representation.
4. Platform Fees
SurplusAtlas charges attorneys flat per-case fees for access to case data and property owner contact information. These fees are for technology services and are separate from any attorney-client fee arrangement. This fee structure complies with ABA Rule 5.4.
5. Finder's Fee
SurplusAtlas may charge property owners a finder's fee for locating surplus funds. This fee is compliant with applicable state regulations and is separate from attorney fees.
6. Limitation of Liability
SurplusAtlas provides information on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee the accuracy of surplus fund data, the outcome of any legal claim, or the performance of any attorney on the platform.
